From Academy Award®-nominated director Denis Villeneuve (Best Achievement in Directing, Arrival, 2016) includes Blade Runner 2049, the much-anticipated follow-up to the acclaimed film Blade Runner, available on electronic download along with Sky’s Purchase & Maintain app on January 28 and on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ and DVD on February 5 courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The film stars Ryan Gosling (La La Land, Drive) as both K and Harrison Ford (that the Star Wars movies, Witness), reprising the role of Rick Deckard. The cast also contains Ana de Armas (War Dogs), Sylvia Hoeks (Renegades), Robin Wright (Wonder Woman), Mackenzie Davis (The Martian), Carla Juri (Brimstone), along with Lennie James (TV’s “The Walking Dead”), with Dave Bautista (the Guardians of the Galaxy movies) and Oscar® winner Jared Leto (Best Supporting Actor, Dallas Buyers Club, 2013).

Ten years following the events of the first film, a brand new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret which has the capacity to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a search to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

BLADE RUNNER 2049 has received 8 BAFTA® nominations including Best Director, First Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Make Up & Hair, Sound and Special Visual Effects.

The DVD is packed with over 30 minutes of additional value, such as six vignettes around ‘The Rise of Wallace Corp’ and ‘The Replicant Revolution,’ along with also three prologues — 2022: Blackout, 2036: Nexus Dawn along with 2048: Nowhere to Run. The 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray editions contain 60 minutes of bonus content, including a comprehensive featurette on ‘Designing the World of Blade Runner.’

Fans may also enter further into the world of Blade Runner with a Limited Edition two-disc Kinect, that comprises an additional 30 minutes of featurettes, including ‘Dressing the Skin: The Fashion of ‘ Blade Runner 2049’ and ‘Fights of the Future: The Action of Blade Runner 2049’5 also 5 exclusive artwork cards inspired from the film designed by Matt Ferguson.

BLADE RUNNER 2049 was created by Academy Award® nominees Andrew A. Kosove & Broderick Johnson (Best Motion Picture of the Year, The Blind Side, 2009) and three-time Emmy® winner Bud Yorkin & Cynthia Sikes Yorkin from a narrative by Hampton Fancher and screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. Multiple Academy Award® nominee Ridley Scott (The Martian, Gladiator), who headed the original Blade Runner, is the executive producer. Tim Gamble, Frank Giustra, Yale Badik, Val Hill, along with Bill Carraro also serve as executive producers.
